Compacting/Granulating with Roller Presses
Undersized material is often enlarged in size by agglomeration (compaction) prior to crushing and screening to form an improved granular product. In this process, roller presses are utilized to form a compacted "sheet". The subsequent process of crushing, screening and recirculation of the newly resized material in compaction/granulation plants has become an industry standard.
Partial list of materials commonly granulated by compaction
  • Ammonium Sulfate
  • Potash
  • NPK Fertilizer
  • Calcium Cyanamide
  • Ceramic Materials
  • Roasted Pyrite
  • Sodium Sulfate
  • Salt
  • Sodium Carbonate
